Below are a few updates and reminders:

Alister Buchanan Tournament. We had a wonderful tournament on Sunday. There are a few photos on the home page.

The winners were:

Jane O'Brien and Jenny Turbitt won the North/South and were overall winners with the most points

Francie Willis and Graham Potter won East/West

Jacqui Rye and Dianne Brady were the Junior winners.

Wednesday Bridge. Last week we had 8 players and this week we had 10 so based on my calculations that is a 25% increase so on that basis, next week we should reach 12 players and the following week we should get 15, nearly 4 tables, so what about coming along and help get to our target of a 25% increase each week.

Car park lighting. Thanks to Peter H, we now have bigger and brighter floodlights in the car park, so there is plenty of light there. We also do have our security people on Tuesday nights.

Our Jubilee Dinner. There will be dietary options but please let us know what your dietary options are. Making that provision is no bother as long as we know.  Please note we do need numbers by 5 February, so banking the $35 is all that you need to do, however if you are unable to bank your money give me a call and we can sort something out.

Tuesday Holyoake Restricted Pairs – Rules around the play - Open and Intermediate players must play with juniors or novice players. If the combination is not within this ruling then the pair is not eligible to win the tournament. If we do have an imbalance of players, it will be sorted by our director, however you should be finding a partner as usual. It is important that our juniors and novices have the opportunity to play with our better players. We would love to have the room full of the mixed pairs and it will be even more interesting to see which pairs come out on top.

Privacy Waiver Forms.  We have a number of forms in but still more people to complete them. If you need a form it can be sent out or collected at the rooms.

Jubilee Restricted Pairs tournament.  As Henny has advised, our Jubilee Restricted Pairs is on 9 February. Given that there are prizes for various combinations you may have a chance of winning a prize – that is exciting. If you do not want to or are unable to play a full day’s bridge could you give a couple of hours helping with catering during the day? Please call Lyndsay if you could give a couple of hours help.

There is plenty of bridge on offer at the club so please come along
